County Fair Fun for Aug. 22nd to September 2

Hello Families,

I apologize for not having posted our learning from last week so this blog posting is a bit long.  My goal is to tell you just enough about our learning to help you engage your child in conversations about his/her school experiences each week.

Thank you so much for attending Curriculum Night on Tuesday and putting me at ease:)  I absolutely love your children and look forward to each day's adventures but grown-ups make me a bit nervous:)  The biggest concern is our related arts schedule since it is on a rotation on not on a designated day each week.  I will always post the next week's related arts schedule for you.

Related Arts Schedule for next week:
Monday - NO SCHOOL -- Enjoy the long weekend!
Tuesday - Art
Wednesday - Music
Thursday - P.E.  (remember tennis shoes)
Friday - Library (remember library books)

Conversation starter:  What did you choose to do during your Free-Exploration time this week?  Who did you explore with?

Conversation Starter: Tell me about math workshop.

Conversation starter:  What are the children doing in this picture?  Can you remember any of your words?  What was the same about all of the words?  Can you sing the song Naughty Kitty Cat for me?

Conversation Starter - What does it mean to wrinkle someone's heart?  Can it be fixed?  What does it mean to be a "bucket dipper" or a "bucket filler?"

Conversation starter - Why do you all have bandaids in the same place?  What does fair mean?

Conversation Starter - Tell me about writer's workshop.  What have you been working on?

Conversation starter - Did you have a time this week when you thought flexibly or were creative in some way?

Conversation starter - Tell me about reader's workshop.  What kind of books did you put into your work basket?

Conversation Starter - Where did you choose to do your best reading this week?

Conversation starter - What was Mrs. McNeal's favorite reading memory?  Where did she like to read as a kid?  What happened to her when she had to go to 2nd grade to read?
